Product Overview The Teledyne RDI Sentinel V is the "Series V" evolution of the iconic Workhorse ADCP. It is a highly integrated, self-contained system designed for the modern surveyor who demands more than just current data. Unlike its 4-beam predecessors, the Sentinel V features a 5th vertical beam, a smaller form factor, and a fully digital, wireless user experience.

It is available in three primary models—V20, V50, and V100—specifically tuned for profiling ranges from less than 1 meter up to 150 meters. Whether you are conducting short-term tidal studies or multi-month offshore deployments, the Sentinel V provides a level of versatility that essentially "doubles" the hardware output through multiple concurrent sampling strategies.

The "Series V" Advantage

• The 5th Beam: The central, vertical transducer provides a direct measurement of vertical velocity and range-to-surface (altimetry). This significantly enhances the accuracy of turbulence studies and provides a robust "zero-up" measurement for waves analysis.
• Simultaneous Sampling: You can now run two completely different measurement programs at once. For example, the system can record a high-frequency wave burst every hour while simultaneously maintaining a 10-minute averaged current profile for the entire water column.
• Cable-Free Mobilization: Features internal WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity. You can configure the instrument, run pre-deployment health checks, and download data wirelessly via a web browser—no specialized cables or deck boxes required.
• Massive Raw Data Storage: Equipped with a 16GB MicroSD card (standard), the Sentinel V records every single ping. There is no need to decide on averaging intervals in advance; you can re-process the raw data later to investigate specific events of interest.
• Off-the-Shelf Power: For short-term deployments, the Sentinel V can be configured to use standard Alkaline "D" cell batteries available at any local hardware store, simplifying international logistics.
