The Industry Standard for Deep-Water Vessel-Mounted Profiling
Product Overview
The Teledyne RDI Ocean Surveyor is the preeminent vessel-mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) designed for open-ocean research and commercial operations. While the Workhorse Mariner handles coastal depths, the Ocean Surveyor is built for the "blue water" fleet, capable of profiling currents at depths exceeding 1,000 meters while the vessel is underway at speeds of 15 knots or more.
Its defining feature is the phased-array transducer. Unlike traditional ADCPs that use four separate "piston" transducers, the Ocean Surveyor uses a single flat-faced electronics array to generate all four beams. This makes the unit significantly more compact, easier to install in a ship's sea chest, and more flush with the hull to reduce drag and flow noise.
