The EdgeTech 3400-OTS, an over-the-side pole mount variant, builds upon the established success of EdgeTech's sub-bottom profiler product line, introducing several unique enhancements to current sub-bottom profiler systems. Utilizing wideband Frequency Modulated (FM) pulses and EdgeTech’s proprietary Full Spectrum CHIRP technology, the 3400-OTS employs a flat multi-channel hydrophone array to generate high-resolution images of sub-bottom stratigraphy across oceans, lakes, and rivers, with exceptional penetration capabilities across various bottom types.
The receiver array of the 3400-OTS is designed to be segmented for standard sub-bottom profiling operations or "pipeline" mode, optimized for locating and imaging buried pipelines or cables. The system's real-time reflection coefficient measurements feature allows users to gather complex 'analytic' data using linear system architecture, facilitating sediment reflection measurement and sediment type determination analysis.
With discrete transmit and receive channels enabling continuous data collection, the 3400-OTS achieves a high ping rate, particularly beneficial for construction and pipeline surveys. Its lightweight design makes it ideal for shallow water surveys using small boats of opportunity. Additionally, the low-frequency model, equipped with dual transmitters and a large receive array, is well-suited for deep-water and windfarm applications.
The EdgeTech 3400-OTS sub-bottom profiling system is provided as a complete package, inclusive of EdgeTech’s DISCOVER sub-bottom acquisition & processing software. Moreover, the 3400-OTS can be seamlessly interfaced with 3rd party software, ensuring compatibility with various data processing and analysis platforms.
