The Sonardyne HPT 5000 and 7000 are advanced acoustic transceivers designed for use with Ranger 2 and Marksman LUSBL systems. Operating in the Medium Frequency (MF) band, these units are engineered to de-risk operations in water depths up to 7,000 meters.

The primary difference between the two lies in their acoustic array design:

• HPT 5000: Features a hemispherical beam pattern (up to ±90°). It is the premier choice for tracking multiple targets (ROVs, AUVs, towfish) at varying elevations and depths simultaneously.
• HPT 7000: Features a directional beam pattern optimized for "top-down" deepwater tracking. It is specifically engineered to reject noise from vessel thrusters, making it the standard for DP drilling rigs and deepwater construction vessels where acoustic interference is high.
