Product Overview

The HydroPACT 350 (formerly the TSS 350) is the specialized counterpart to the HydroPACT 440. While the 440 uses pulse induction to find any conductive pipe or cable, the 350 is designed specifically to detect and track tone-carrying cables. By locking onto a specific electromagnetic frequency (tone) injected into the cable, it provides significantly greater detection ranges and the ability to pinpoint cable faults with high precision.

It is the primary tool for telecommunications and power cable surveys, offering a reliable way to map small-diameter cables that may have a minimal metallic signature but are "energized" for the survey.

Active Tone Tracking: Works by detecting an AC tone (typically 25Hz) applied to the cable via a surface tone generator. It can also detect the inherent harmonics of live power cables without needing an injected tone.
Extended Detection Range: Offers a massive vertical detection range of up to 10 meters and a total horizontal swath width of 20 meters. This is nearly triple the range of pulse-induction systems like the 440.
Fault Location: A critical feature for repair operations; the system can accurately identify where a cable tone stops or changes, pinpointing the location of a break or "grounding" fault.
Real-Time Analysis: Provides instantaneous Depth of Burial (DOB), lateral offset, and vehicle skew angle data, allowing ROV pilots to stay centered over the cable even in high-current environments.
Look-Ahead Information: The system provides predictive tracking data, helping the operator anticipate changes in cable direction before the ROV reaches them.
